Vivid Readings

REVsound has written and produced music and industrial audio for many years, for audio books, new media, telephone prompt systems, video, museum installations and more.

When introduced to author Irshad Manji, to record her controversial, international best seller "The Trouble With Islam Today", we discovered the challenging and beautiful world of "naked voice" recording.  Recently we have decided to focus on this specialty and reach out to authors and publishers to see what we can do to bring written word to the public in a meaningful and engaging way.

  • Engaging and Contemplative

The written word holds much power for our happiness and enlightenment. However, the feel of the delivery provides just as much information and value.

The performance, the character of the audio and the background room tone tell a story too. Our approach is to create the right environment for these elements to unfold naturally into a unique experience for each project.

  • Studio

Our studio is a private loft nestled in the "Brockton Village" area, away from the street traffic, and 5 minutes from Queen West.

We have tuned the studio with the help of leading acoustical architects Martiin Pilchener and Terry Medwedick.

The reader sits in a spacious area, not a booth. This area makes use of spectral-neutral diffusion, and has changeable acoustic values by way of configurable surfaces.

There are separate meeting areas with a day kitchen that looks out to a courtyard view of Japanese maples and greenery, with outdoor visitor parking just steps from our front door.
